Symphonic Labyrinth Op4
The Symphonic Labyrinth was composed between 1988 and 1993, with
some small revisions made for its publication in 2002. Premiered
at St Ignatius Loyola, New York, the work is symphonic in structure,
tortuous in character, and an almost gymnastic challenge to the
player. It demands a resourceful, versatile instrument. Despite
its complexity, listeners seem to respond to its momentum, and
its mix of cerebral and emotional inspiration.
