Polyphony in T major, or Earl Grey’s Fancy Op19

Composer's note

Written between June 2010 and July 2011, this Bagatelle marks the end of a seven-year gap in composing for organ. The title should perhaps
be spelt with a double l, as this piece is based on the nursery rhyme "Polly put the kettle on". The initial cosy atmosphere is stirred when some
turbulence brews up. "Sukey take it o- again" is represented by the more agitated middle section, one might say a "storm in a teacup".
Who will prevail - Sukey or Polly? After the return of the opening strains, the aromatic blend of harmonies leaves no doubt!
