Psalm 27 to the tune 'Juliette'
Composer's note
The text is a paraphrase of verses from the Scottish Metrical
version of Psalm 27, ‘Dominus illuminatio’. I composed
my
hymn tune ‘Juliette’ in January 2017, then used it
in ‘Juliette’s Madrigal’, one of the movements
in my Partita narrativa Op.23.
This strophic setting was made in March 2019. The harmonium accompaniment
is equally effective on organ or piano.
Harmonium registrations are given, as well as general guidelines
for organ.
